Research Accomplishments (5 best):

  • Co-developed 12 wheat varieties and 15 genetic stocks for abiotic and quality traits in wheat to cater to the needs of researchers and farmers.
  • Identified physiological traits, genotypes and novel molecular markers associated with drought, high-temperature stress tolerance and photosynthesis in wheat, Cloned and submitted 12 wheat gene sequences to NCBI data base
  • Developed genotype independent regeneration and agrobacterium mediated transformation system and SDN1 mediated CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing system in Indian wheat genotypes
  • Involved in the creation of the climate controlled greenhouse, temperature-controlled phenotyping facility, plant physiology and genome editing laboratory facilities at ICAR-IIWBR, Karnal.
  • Guided/co-guided six Ph.D. students, and three M.Sc. students and taught 15 courses to CCSHAU Ph.D. students and IARI Karnal hub U.G. and P.G. students.
