  2. Identified Bhut Jolokia as a new source of resistance, which is being utilized for transferring leaf curl virus resistance in chillies.
  3. Standardized and developed microcage inoculation technique for artificial screening of PepLCV in chilli plantlets.
  4. Identified north east region as a peculiar and secondary centre of diversity for chilli through genetic diversity analysis of chilli genotypes using SSR and RAMPO markers.
  5. Completed four externally funded projects, including SERB-Young Scientist project entitled “Development of functional markers linked to fragrance in indigenous aromatic rice landraces”. In this project, genome and transcriptome analysis of rice identified 8 putative genes associated with aroma in Kalanamak.
